Greenwell Street Presbyterian Church, Newtownards

P.W.A
The PWA meets on the first Monday of each month. Interesting and varied programmes are arranged for each meeting. The main focus is to inform and educate the ladies on ‘World Mission’ and develop fellowship among the members.

Women’s Meeting
This gospel meeting is held every Thursday evening. The programme is varied and interesting and often includes missionary speakers, slides, choir and soloists.

Men’s Fellowship
Meets on the first Friday of each month. The aim is to promote fellowship among the men. Speakers present a Christian perspective on a wide range of topical issues.

Women’s Home Bible Study
This group meets on the first Thursday of each month in the individual member’s homes. A special theme is chosen for each year.

Twenty Plus Group
This group is a follow on from the Youth fellowship. It meets every third Friday of each month for fellowship and Bible Study. Meetings are held in member’s homes.


Mother and Toddlers
Known as the Wednesday club, it provides a meeting place for Mothers and their children. A wide range of activities are on offer. In addition to interaction with other adults, invited speakers might deal with parenthood or health. The children enjoy a wide range of supervised activities. All aspects of the club have a clear Christian ethos as we seek to lead others to know the Lord Jesus.

Friday Morning Rendezvous
This ‘drop in’ opens each Friday morning. Its aim is to provide a place for members of the congregation to meet in an informal way. It also p[rovides a place for those who have only a very casual link with the congregation to come along and hopefully be encouraged to come to church.

Bowls
The Bowling Club meets each Tuesday evening. The aim is fun and fellowship in a Christian atmosphere rather than serious competition.

Badminton Club

The Club provides recreational fellowship for all members of the congregation. The senior club meets on Friday evenings, Juveniles early Fridays and Saturday afternoons.

Sunday Schools
The Morning and Afternoon Sunday Schools meet in the Church Halls each week throughout the Church year, Sept/May. The aim is to make the Bible interesting and enjoyable to the children and young people, making I relevant to their young lives.

Girls’ Brigade
The various age groups meet each Monday evening. Through Bible teaching, badge work and physical exercise, the G.B. Seeks to develop the girls spiritually, mentally and physically.

Boys’ Brigade
The three sections of B.B. meet on Wednesday evening. In addition to the Bible teaching, the Company offers a wide range of activities such as craft work, games, drill, badge work and physical education.
Junior Christian Fellowship
This meeting is geared towards teaching the Bible to primary school children through quizzes, Bible stories, memory verses, choruses and visiting speakers.

Youth Fellowship and Youth Point
These groups (for 1st/4th form and 5th form+) meet each Sunday evening after church. A varied programme seeks to stimulate the young people into thinking through their faith in relation to their lives in school and society.

Youth Club
The Youth Club is open to young people in Forms 1 to 6. A wide range of activities are on offer and each evening there is an epilogue given by a visiting speaker or one of the leaders.

Badminton Club

Crusaders

A youth organisation for secondary school age meeting on Thursday nights in the church Hall.
